The Townsend’s Inlet Bridge between Avalon and Sea Isle City has been temporarily closed by local police departments on Sunday afternoon, July 20th. There is a persistent wind out of the northeast combined with a high tide that is causing wave action on the roadway. It is likely that the bridge will be re-opened to vehicular traffic later Sunday afternoon. Please use Route 9 or the Garden State Parkway as alternate routes for the time being.
