Atlantic City Electric will conduct a scheduled interruption of electrical service to parts of Avalon on Tuesday, October 6th, at 4:00pm.  The power interruption will last for about 20 minutes, and will impact sections of Avalon north of 61st Street from the beach to the bay.

This power interruption will permit Atlantic City Electric to safety de-energize the Peermont Substation located between 60th Street and 61st Street in Avalon.  The substation will be powered down and energy will be re-routed through our community in advance of the construction of the new Substation that will service Avalon beginning in the Spring, 2016.  This scheduled interruption of electrical service was postponed last week due to the threat of inclement weather.

The Avalon Office of Emergency Management will conduct a Code Red emergency telephone alert this evening, and again tomorrow morning following a meeting on Tuesday with officials from the utility.

If you have any questions about this power outage, please contact Veronica Town, Senior Public Affairs Manager for Atlantic City Electric at (609) 463-3805.
