The National Weather Service has posted a Winter Storm Watch for portions of Cape May County in advance of a winter storm that will bring some snow, rain, and mixture of precipitation to our region.  Currently the Watch is not in effect for our Borough, but that could change with a revised forecast later today.

A storm will bring accumulating snow to much of our region during the day on Tuesday.  Snow totals are currently forecast to be higher on the mainland, and lower in coastal communities.  This forecast has the probability of some change in the next 24 hours; please continue to monitor traditional media outlets for updates to our forecast.

This morning’s high tide event triggered minor coastal flooding in our community.  There is the potential for moderate coastal flooding at the time of high tide on Tuesday morning.  Please plan accordingly.  High tide at the Townsend’s Inlet Bridge between Avalon and Sea Isle City will return at 7:54pm on Monday, and high tide on Tuesday will occur at 8:16am and 8:40pm.  Never attempt to drive on any flooded street as this puts you, and your vehicle, in danger; it also creates an unnecessary wake that can damage homes and businesses.  If you have any interruptions of electrical service during this storm, please report your outage to Atlantic City Electric at 1-800-833-7476.
