The Avalon Department of Public Works has announced that normal trash collection in Section Two and Section Three of Avalon will be delayed for one day due to the approaching nor’easter. Section Two, which includes 23rd Street up to but not including 42nd Street, will be collected on Wednesday, instead of Tuesday. Section Three, which includes 42nd Street to the north side of 80th Street, will be collected on Thursday, instead of Wednesday. All sections are from bay to ocean. There is anticipated to be very strong winds, some coastal flooding, and snow mixing with rain during this storm event.
The Avalon Office of Emergency Management will be placing a Code Red reverse 911 call to residents early this evening as more information about the storm becomes available.
The Avalon Free Public Library has postponed both Story Time and movie night on Tuesday, March 14th due to the storm.
