The National Weather Service has issued the following Coastal Flood Watch for times of high tide on Thursday, December 17th.  There could also be minor coastal flooding on Tuesday and Wednesday.

High tide at the Townsend’s Inlet Bridge is as follows:

Tuesday:  8:05am, 8:31pm

Wednesday:  8:54am, 9:23pm

Thursday:  9:44am, 10:16pm

…COASTAL FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH
THURSDAY AFTERNOON…

* WHAT…One to two feet of inundation above ground level
possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal
waterways.

* WHERE…Tidal portions of Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland
Counties in New Jersey.

* WHEN…From Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in
coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal
waterways. Many roads become impassable. Some damage to
vulnerable structures may begin to occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Minor tidal flooding may occur with the
Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning and evening high tides.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop.
