The National Weather Service has continued the Coastal Flood Warning and the High Wind Warning for Avalon for today and tomorrow, December 16-17th. This event will be a rain event with wind gusts approaching 60 mph, minor tidal flooding at time of high tide Wednesday night and moderate tidal flooding at time of high tide Thursday morning.

High tide occurs Wednesday at 8:54am, and again at 9:23pm. High tide occurs Thursday at 9:44am, and again at 10:16pm.

Now is the time to consider moving your vehicle off a street that floods during tidal flooding events. Secure outdoor objects that are subject to strong winds. Contractors should secure their job sites. Never drive on a flooded street as this puts you and your vehicle at risk. If you have any emergency, dial 911. If you experience a power outage, contact Atlantic City Electric directly at 1-800-833-7476.
Tidal flooding is a temporary condition, and they should wait for the tide to recede before driving.  If you must drive during a flood, seek roads that are not flooded; in the north end of the island First and Avalon Avenues do not flood during tidal events.
