The National Weather Service has continued the Blizzard Warning for Avalon, and has added a Coastal Flood Warning.  The current forecast calls for between 10-18 inches of snowfall during the storm, wind gusts approaching 50mph, and the potential for moderate tidal flooding early Saturday morning.  Driving conditions will be hazardous, if not impossible, especially during the morning hours on Saturday.  The Governor has called for a State of Emergency for Cape May County.

Avalon Community Hall is closed this weekend, and as of now, the Avalon Free Public Library is closed on Saturday.  Avalon asks property owners to move their cars off the streets to their driveways to assist with snow plowing operations.  If you have any emergency, dial 911.  If you have a power outage, contact Atlantic City Electric directly at 1-800-833-7476.  Public Works crews will be working overnight into Saturday clearing streets and roadways.  Drifting snow is possible due to the strong winds, along with beach erosion.

Here is the final briefing from the National Weather Service on the anticipated blizzard.
