The Avalon Office of Emergency Management continues to track the path of Tropical Storm Isaac, which is expected to strengthen into a Category One hurricane early next week.

The lastest information (right) on the storm shows that Isaac will remain a tropical storm impacting Cuba and possibly southern Florida over the weekend.  By early next week, the storm may strengthen once it hits the waters in the Gulf of Mexico and make landfall as a hurricane early next week.

As of Friday, August 23rd, this storm poses no threat to Avalon or the Mid-Atlantic region.  However, these storms can turn and change both strength and direction.  Avalon will continue to monitor the path of this tropical storm over the weekend and continue to post advisories on this website.
