The National Weather Service has posted a Coastal Flood Warning for Avalon and other shore points through Saturday morning, March 9th, at 9:00am. A storm that has moved well out into the ocean brought some light snow and rain to our region during the day on Friday. This storm could bring minor to moderate coastal flooding at time of high tide during the Saturday morning high tide event. High tide will occur at the Townsend’s Inlet Bridge at 5:52am on Saturday.

The forecast will greatly improve starting on Saturday morning, but some coastal flooding is possible Saturday morning at time of high tide. If you live on a flood prone street, please consider moving your vehicle out of the street in advance of the next high tide event. Never park your vehicle on any bridge or traffic island. Never attempt to drive your vehicle through standing water or through a flooded intersection. If you have any emergency, please dial 911.
