The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for the Borough of Avalon for Tuesday, January 30th, between the hours of 5:00am and 12 Noon. The Advisory calls for the potential of minor coastal flooding. In addition, the current forecast calls for the potential for light snow for our region on Tuesday, with an inch or less of snow expected to fall.
High tide will occur at the Townsend’s Inlet Bridge between Avalon and Sea Isle City Tuesday at 6:38am. Please exercise caution while driving Tuesday morning and be alert of any water in the roadways. Never attempt to drive on any street with any localized flooding.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect from 5 AM to noon EST Tuesday. * LOCATIONS...Coastal areas of southern New Jersey, including Delaware Bay. * COASTAL FLOODING...Minor flooding is anticipated around the time of high tide Thursday morning. * TIMING...High tide on the southern New Jersey ocean front and Delaware Bay is between 6 and 7 am. High tide on the back bays occurs later than the high tide on the ocean front. * SURGE...Around a foot above the astronomical tide. * WAVES...3 to 5 feet on the ocean front and 2 to 3 feet on the Delaware Bay. * IMPACTS...Localized roadway flooding is expected. Some roads may be closed due to high water. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected. Minor Tidal flooding often results in some road closures. Usually...the most vulnerable roadways will flood. Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged...leading to costly repairs.
