The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning for Avalon and other barrier island communities. The warning is in effect Friday evening, April 3 through Saturday morning, April 4th. The potential exists for widespread minor coastal flooding with the potential for moderate coastal flooding at time of high tide.
High tide will occur at the Townsend’s Inlet Bridge Friday at 5:01pm, and again Saturday morning at 5:21am. The Saturday morning high tide may produce the most flooding. If you live in an area where minor to moderate coastal flooding occurs in Avalon, consider moving your car to another location in our community before the Saturday morning high tide event.
